Thank you to Luckenbooth who treated our residents to some spectacular vocals on Thursday. A video of which is available over on our Facebook page. Luckenbooth are regular favourites of the residents and hopefully its wont be long before we see them again.

Thank you to guest speaker Mr John Walker who did a talk on the Glasgow Dancing Halls which existed decades ago. The talk was very informative and cast up a lot of enjoyable memories to many of the residents who themselves had attended the dance halls in the past.

A huge thank you to Jackie and Eric Rice who performed for the residents in the Abbeyfield lounge. Residents were treated to a variety of old classics which they enjoyed as always when Jackie and Eric visit.

We recently purchased another Defibrillator and it is located externally as part of our community support, it is registered with the British Heart Foundation's The Circuit to allow first responders to find our location.

Thank you to local group The Jolly B's who played for the residents in what was, as always, a thoroughly entertaining afternoon. The Jolly B's are an old favourite of the residents having visited many times before and they never disappoint. Thank you again and hopefully its not too long before we see the band back performing for the residents in Abbeyfield House.

At our January Abbeyfield AGM meeting we said thank you to Willie Park for his 25 years service and formally recognised his retirement from the Management Committee and as a trustee. Willie and his wife Anne started supporting Abbeyfield Strathaven in 1988 and Willie has been a great support to Abbeyfield and the Management Committee through the many changes of the last 25 years. We are grateful for his guidance and direction over many years, and wish Willie & Anne all the best for the future.
The pictures show Willie & Anne receiving flowers and the grateful thanks of Abbeyfield from our Chairman, Kenny Naylor.

Thank you to James McStay who hosted a special musical bingo for the residents with a variety of old classics. The residents had a great time especially the prize winners!
